During the pandemic, we have had to adapt in all sorts of ways. And if you were planning on getting married in 2020, COVID-19 no doubt affected how your wedding came to life. With most couples pushing aside the big lavish events for more intimate ceremonies, many people found the easiest way to get hitched would be with a small civil ceremony.
In the case of Amber and Serge, they wanted to tie the knot but found that Orange County was the only place nearby issuing licenses. That meant a quick pit stop to the Honda Center! Afterwards, we headed to the beach to capture a couple shots in beautiful Laguna Beach.
Planning a wedding is hard. Planning a wedding in the middle of a worldwide pandemic is almost impossible. But Mallory and Dave figured out a way to pull off an incredibly beautiful (and safe) wedding at the California Club in Downtown Los Angeles. And while the guest list was small and the wedding intimate, the whole affair was dripping in their sophisticated style. As always thank you Lizzi for assisting me!
I haven’t shot nearly as many weddings this year as normal (thanks COVID). But people are still getting married! And with Eve and Rob, they wanted to keep it small, keep it simple, keep it very safe, and held a beautifully intimate backyard wedding in beautiful Altadena. When I got the call that they were going through with it, I was excited. Take a look to see why.
Thank you Eve, Rob, and Keira for having me be a part of this fantastic day!
Well…. COVID-19 has definitely taken a toll on my photography business. In an age where gatherings are prohibited, people are afraid to be close to one another, and weddings are being postponed, there isn’t a lot of demand at the moment! Go figure.
But there were still some amazing events this year. So I decided to take a quick look back on some of the most fun stuff I shot in 2020 :)
Despite the significant impact COVID-19 has had on the photography industry, there are still ways to shoot! And as students graduated this spring, there were still grad photos to be done!
Have you ever heard of a SURPRISE wedding? Neither had I. Until some of Seth and Eleanor’s friends approached me and explained the situation. They wanted a wedding, but didn’t want to plan it. So they got some incredible friends to help them do it - all without telling them ANYTHING about it. Including when it was. This turned out to be one of the most memorable days in my wedding shooting career. Such a unique experience, one that I would recommend - if you trust your friends enough!
Back to the days when the Griffith Observatory was open and the weather was great!! Aren’t you all missing those days? I sure know I am…
They say better late than never… And in this crazy time of quarantine, it seems appropriate to throw it back to better times - the holidays - when our biggest worry was how we didn’t have enough time in the day. And since I never blogged these photos, thought it as good a time as any!
Let me start out by saying that the Ebell in Los Angeles is a fabulous venue. 10/10 would recommend to any bride and groom considering it. It also never hurts when you get to photograph such a great, and hilarious couple. What a magical night for Michelle and Garrett that I captured with the help of my fantastic second shooter Lizzi!
Another December means more Christmas family photos!
This time with the Rodriguez clan out in Santa Clarita in our lovely LA Christmas weather.
