Justin in San Francisco

This past weekend I spent a couple days up in the Bay Area exploring the area and catching up with old friends. But while I was up there I had the opportunity to photograph Justin, the brother of one of my past clients, Brittany! I had a blast exploring San Francisco, and spending some time with these two.

Pete in Downtown!

Two weekends ago I did a headshot shoot with this handsome guy, and when we were done, we decided to get a few fun shots as well. Since we were in Downtown, we did what any Angeleno would do and busted out a surfboard. Because why not? We have to enjoy this amazing weather somehow.

We got Published!

Some exciting news for us over here at Chris Ellis Photography… we had one of our weddings from this past summer published in the amazing UK blog Blissfully Wed!

Jason and Caitlin’s Sonoma wedding was chosen for the publication and we couldn’t agree more. It was an absolutely gorgeous wedding with a fantastic couple. If you haven’t taken a look at the images, here’s a link to the Blissfully Wed’s post!

And a few teaser images as well :)

Diane’s Family!

While we have had some blisteringly cold weather lately (for LA standards, that is) nothing can get in the way of bringing family together. Last week, I had the chance to photograph this amazing family as they were all together for the Christmas holiday. This session was presented to Diane’s (Mom) as a gift for Christmas, and we took full advantage. Even though it was cold, we knocked out some fantastic images, and created some great memories along the way.

These images were shot at Hart Park in Santa Clarita!

Mackenzie and Sutton

Mackenzie and Sutton, brother and sister, each graduating last year. Sutton just graduated from high school while Mackenzie was graduating with me in May!

I had the chance to shoot this two last year at the beautiful Caltech campus. (This was before I later got kicked out on a shoot after this…I don’t believe in avoiding shooting on private property I suppose.)

Caitlin and Jason’s Woodland Sonoma Wedding

This past summer I had the incredible opportunity to shoot Caitlin and Jason’s wedding in Sonoma, California. I had known Caitlin and Jason for years, with Caitlin being kind enough to offer me a job at the Occidental College yearbook during my second year. Ever since then, I have always admired her design and stylistic eye, and was honored to be asked to shoot her wedding this past August.

It was a fabulous backyard wedding that included some incredible details, amazing food, and some great old friends.

Sunny, Mandy, and I!

Just a little personal blog post!

I know this isn’t my normal professional work, but I just wanted to post a little something from my own life. This is what happens when you keep your camera with you all the time!

And I wanted to show off the best little dog in the world.

Eaton Canyon is one of these gems in the San Gabriel Valley thats few people know about, and even fewer take advantage of. It’s an absolutely phenomenal place to shoot, and I take a lot of my clients there when looking for more rustic or natural scenery.

This shoot features Sophie, an aspiring Opera singer who needed some new shots done. I have known Sophie for years. She was in my brother’s class all the way back in elementary school. So without dating myself too much, its been easily over ten years.

And without further ado, here are some of the shots we got!
