Will and Kat!

Off to Venice Beach again for this shoot! We explored the alleys and streets around Abbott Kinney and eventually wandered over to the beach where we jumped into the water.

We got some great new headshots for Will and a fantastic mix of shots along the way.

Nina!

I couldn’t wait to share a couple images from my recent session with Nina, an actress based out in LA but hailing originally from New York. This was my first time shooting out in the Abbot Kinney neighborhood of Venice, but after this session, I will be coming back for a lot more. The colors and textures were fantastic, with lots of alleys and secluded areas to shoot. Nina was absolutely fantastic to work with so without further ado… Enjoy!

Katrina!

So much shooting at UCLA recently! Now we have the lovely Katrina, who I met while traveling Europe almost 2 years ago. It’s crazy how time flies…

Congrats on graduating!

Chapman Senior Sessions!

With graduation season just wrapping up, I am happy to share some of my images from one of my favorite sessions of the year. When I was asked by a fellow photographer and graphic designer to photograph her and some of her friends down at Chapman, I was obviously excited. I don’t remember the last time I laughed so much during a shoot… Here’s a peak at some of our shots!

Why Wedding Photography Costs So Much

A lot of people ask me how wedding photography can cost so much when “isn’t it mostly about the quality of camera?”. Nothing can be further from the truth, but instead of ranting about it on my own, I wanted to share this article that has been circulating the wedding photographer community for a few years now.

It began when someone posed on craigslist the question of why wedding photography would cost so much…

Check it out. It gives a pretty good insight into why our prices are “wack”.

Allie and Scott!

Congrats to Scott and Allie on finally tying the knot!  I had the chance to both plan AND photograph this incredible event. While it was a crazy amount of work over 18 months, you can see it all paid off in an absolutely amazing day.

The weather was perfect, the venue was stunning, and the food was the best I have ever had at a wedding. Suffice it to say, this was a great event to photograph, and I was lucky to be a part of it!

I would like to thank all of the vendors who all created an event that Scott and Allie were absolutely blown away by. The fantastic people at TPC Valencia made this an unforgettable day along with Enchanted Garden with fantastic flowers, Waveform Events with great music, and Cake Goodness with the delicious dessert bar. I would also like to thank Michelle Lacson of Michelle Lacson Photography for assisting me!

A special thank you goes to Amanda Perez for being my right hand woman, and the day of coordinator. Without you, this would never have gone so smoothly!

Madeline!

Last Sunday, I had the chance to shoot two beautiful girls at UCLA. The first one was Brette (previous post) and the second was Madeline!

I love getting the chance to shoot senior sessions at the UCLA because anywhere you go, it’s absolutely stunning. Its hard to take a bag picture here, and with such a great person to shoot, my job was easy.

Brette!

A preview of my fantastic session with Brette at UCLA!

I have had the pleasure to photograph Brette many times over the years, and I can say that she’s one of my absolute favorite people to work with. As an actress she is great. And in front of the camera? A natural.

This began as a headshot session and turned into a portrait session by the end.

On top of a lovely day at UCLA, with beautiful weather, I couldn’t have asked for a better Sunday!
